The wonder world of social media is reviving old memories, reconnecting old friends and colleagues, and enabling us to reach out to each other in ways we never felt were possible. As the world is becoming smaller and smaller, we at Hislop reach out to everyone to whom this institution holds significance. And for all of them, the meeting point is `HISCAANí Ė the Hislop College Alumni Association. We want HISCANN to evolve into a wide umbrella under which students and teachers Ė present as well as former -- share their experience, achievements, knowledge and expertise from different fields with each other. Imagine a world where all Hislopians come together to interact, connect professionally and grow intellectually. Over time, this continuous process, we believe, would not only pave the way for individuals to benefit but even the institution to flourish.
You may drop a line to the alumni email, reach us over Facebook, call us, and visit our website. If you happen to be in the city, do find a little time to check out the college and walk down the memory lane.
HISCAAN is an autonomous body with the sole aim to build strong and interactive alumni. It wants to create an opportunity for all of us to give back to our alma mater in our own little way: collaborations, contributions, and co-operation to set new benchmarks in learning, education and development.
The areas where the Alumni can play a role are:
** Scholarships and other economic help, motivational lectures, industrial trips for students, building funds.
** Faculty support, help in Research and Development process, output management.
** Campus interviews and internship facilities.
** Social and Cultural activities.
Hislopís contribution to the Indian Society is irrefutably diverse. While Sir Hari Singh Gour, who became the first Vice-Chancellor of the Delhi University and later devoted all his wealth and energy in founding Sagar University, enriched the universe of academia, the works of Baba Amte, another alumni member, improved the lives of the downtrodden and many untouched by the society. Members like Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla, Mukul Wasnik, Vilas Muttamwar and Anees Ahmad contributed to the polity of the Nation. Today, Dr. Saraswati Sukumar, a Hislopian, adorns the Barbara Rubenstein Chair at the John Hopkins University, USA, having devised a method that detects breast cancer at one cell stage, while Dr. Ketan Mulmule, a Senior Scientist at NASA, is doing commendable research in artificial intelligence. And, last but not the least, film director Rajkumar Hirani, who has thrilled millions of movie goers, is also an alumnus of the College.
Hereís a list of some of our alumnus:
Dr. Ashish Nandy
Mr. Sandeep Tamgade
Dr. P. L. Bhandarkar
Dr. Pankaj Chande
Ms. Sujata Dani
Dr. G. B. Kadam

Do reach out to us if new ideas to improve Hislop cross your mind. Make no mistake, every step counts. Letís leave for the posterity a Hislop that we all can be proud of.
