| B.A. with Psychology |
Three year course.
Theoretical knowledge about Intelligence, Learning, Memory, Emotion, Attention, Perception, Adjustment, Anxiety, Personality, Psychopathology and basics of Organizational behavior.
Practicum includes experiments and testing, research project and visit to industries, jail, schools, orphanages and NGOs.

Two year course.
1st year:
General psychology, Statistics and Research, Personality, Social psychology and Community Intervention.
Practicum: Experiments, testing, presentations and reports.
2nd Year:
Two Specializations
Industrial Psychology and Clinical Psychology.
Industrial Psychology:
Principles of Personnel Management, Human Resource Development, Organizational Behavior, Consumer Behavior and Organizational development.
Practicum: Industrial Posting, Dissertation, visits to Manufacturing, Hospitality, and Service Industries and case presentations.
Clinical Psychology:
Forms of Psychopathology, Diagnosis and assessment, Approaches to Counseling and Psychotherapy, Community Mental Health and Medical Psychology.
Practicum: Clinical postings in Mental Hospital, School for Mentally Handicapped, visits to Old age homes, Orphanages, De-addiction centers, Adoption centers, NGOs, Red-light areas, Dissertation, Seminars, case presentations.

Research Programmes |
The Department offers doctoral research programmes in clinical and industrial psychology. Eleven students are currently pursuing their Ph. D. in the Department.
Major research interests of the Department are:
1. Development and standardization of tests for detecting learning disabilities among children
2. Development of self concept in Urban and Rural Adolescence
3. Psychological Factors affecting stroke patients and their impact on functional recovery.”

Departmental Programmes and Extension Activities
|
Regular Activities:
- Psychology based Movie screening and its critical evaluation.
- Role plays to explain concepts with creativity.
- Group discussions and debates to enrich critical, logical and social skills.
- Guest lectures from expert professionals.
Vocational guidance and Career Counseling – This is an ongoing affair carried throughout the year. Special lectures are arranged in various schools of the city make students aware of the aptitude testing. This helps the students to chose the vocation and career depending on their aptitudes, interests and abilities.
Counseling centre: To extend psychological help to the community. Special concession on fees is provided to the students.

Annual Features:
Psychogalaxy – An exhibition on models in Psychology to create and generate knowledge and awareness about the applications of Psychology. The event is open for the public. From this year the exhibition has been made inter – collegiate. Kaushalya – A workshop on Managerial Skills to help the participants develop leadership, communication, motivation, emotional intelligence, conflict management and personality skills. |
